Fast Track Grants have been expanded to provide support for
sixteen schools
in Maine to utilize Lego MindStorms and PicoCricket kits in their school programs. MindStorms is designed especially for making robots, while the PicoCricket Kit is designed for making artistic creations with lights, sound, music, and motion.
The construction systems used in these
projects enable children as young as eight years old to engage in creative learning experiences, providing
them with new opportunities to explore, experiment, and express themselves.
These are hands-on experiences which provide both
boys and girls a sense of accomplishment in a cooperative, stimulating but
non-competitive environment.
